The workout Wednesday didn't feel great, and I wasn't really feeling recovered from a big finish to last week; but I didn't want to go into my race on Saturday without turning my legs over some, so I did my usual week-of-marathon workout.
Race went well, obviously, since it was a 2 second PR (I've only raced the half seriously as a masters runner). Leaders went out slow and I actually led for a bit in the first couple of hundred meters. They eventually picked it up, and I let them go, but I did get sucked along a little too fast. I settled in eventually, but ended up running alone for the last 11 miles. I probably should have gone with the one guy who finished right ahead of me, but Ivler him to at eh 2 mile mark because I was out too fast even through 2 miles, so I consciously tried to back off and let him go. Probably a mistake, but no complaints. Also a bit of a challenging weather day - 65 degrees and 62 dew point at gun time. Not terrible, not ideal.
