No Participation from Mizzou, All the Talent, but can't make the national championships, collecting talent and getting no results.
to be fair - SLU, UMKC, Lindenwood also were not at their respective national meets as a team

Wash U is pretty good, but still only a 25:13 team average on a course where North Central ran 24:33. Should U of M be better? Maybe, but they are still in front of the teams you listed. Not by much, but still better. I'd give the edge to UMKC. They won the WAC (not that strong, I know) and also finished in front of Missouri at Wisconsin.
UMKC>Missouri>Wash U
DII and DIII Nationals are great, but realistically Adams State, GVSU, Mines and North Central are the only non DI teams who might have made the DI National meet. DII and DIII teams in the bottom half of their National Championship (Missouri Southern and Central Missouri) would be mid pack DI teams.
UMKC has the best men's team in the show me state this year. They were 7th in the Midwest regional. They would destroy MOSO and UCM.
So shall we get a list going for 2017?

3. Wash U.
4. Missouri Southern
5. Columbia College

Mizzou has blown it with that stud freshman. I thought he was going to be the next big thing. Doubt he even runs for MO next year. Bet he goes full time triathlons.
Saint Louis belongs in the top 3 in this list. Would probably go 1. UMKC 2. Wash U 3. Saint Louis. Saint Louis actually had a decent team last year. Looks like the same group of guys struggled this year, but at least there top runner is actually pretty good.

Just get on here and say "I hate Mizzou" and be done with it. Not that anybody cares you feel that way.

Agreed. Kind of embarrassed that another Missourian would make a lame, thinly veiled thread like this.
It doesn't help that, for whatever reason, they don't get much support recruiting wise from the in-state high school coaches.
Especially, the St. Louis side. It's a shame.

There was a period of time where they didn’t do a great job recruiting in state athletes. That seems to have changed in the past 2-3 years. I’m not sure what has spurred that change (maybe turnover of coaches on the track side and allocating scholarships differently?) but you are starting to see a lot more in state kids and coaches consider it as an option.
Definitely rooting for all of the in state programs to find success though. The more opportunities for kids to stay close to home (if they want to) and be on good teams, the better.
