Would seem to be an interesting question, in part because he's Canadian, in part because his talent isn't clearly medal at Olys level ?
You do understand that he is ranked 6th on the all time Collegiate 5000m list (nobody ahead of him being an American) with 1 outdoor and 2 indoor season eligibility left.
Are you saying that 100% of all NCAA Americans in the past 30 years should simply have quit after College? Some names that come to mind are Rupp, Ritz, Solinsky, Kennedy, Teg, True, Mead, Jenkins, Hill, Chelimo, Derrick, Lomong... you may also want to through in fellow Canadians Ahmed and Levins to that list. Go crazy and add Lagat and Ches to that list also. Because none of them were as fast as Knight in College. Zero Americans in the long NCAA history. Who knows, before he is done at Syracuse, maybe zero NCAA athlete (all countries combined) will have run a faster 5000m than him.
Why would he have no chance at an Olympic medal? What do you know that we don't?
