There has never been any marathoner with such consistency. There has never been anything even close to that. All the fast marathoners men or women always last 2-3 fast marathons and then they start with injuries and DNFs and DNS. Or that they win one, and then loose two and then manage to get another one. But Kipchoge has 8 or 9 (lost count) straight wins, with very fast times (except Rio, yet 2:08 is still fast to SOME we know). How would you explain that?
Making it to the starting line is the impressive part. Probably a combination of luck, combined with a diet and training that really works for his body and some serious natural durability. This isn't something we've really figured out, and it's highly individual so no deep answers or insight into how much is luck and how much is it Kipchoge knowing what the hell he is doing.
Why he always wins when he gets there is obvious, he is a metric ton better than everybody else. I wouldn't be surprised if Kipchoge is 2-3 seconds a mile better than his competition. Maybe even better. I could really see 2:01:xx from Kipchoge. No one else is sub 2:03. In track terms that's like a 12:50 guy racing some 13:00-13:05 guys.
