Jordan Hasay already has huge name marketability and now has all these appearance fees, recognizability in an elite field, etc. with her great performances this year. How much do you think she makes?

Don't know, don't care, but I fantasize about her third option.

She got 40k for Boston 3rd. 25k for Chicago 3rd.
If that's true then that's a travesty, especially for Chicago and the time that she ran.
Should be much more then that wrote:

If she wants more money she needs to actually WIN a race. 3rd place should not pay out large amounts of money, that is for winners.

Pretty sure her Nike bonus for both races were bigger than the official prize money, and so were her appearance fees.
I just looked it up for Chicago
$50,000 for 3rd, $15,000 for 1st American. No time bonuses.
Obviously gets appearance fee and shoe contract bonuses.

Thanks for the info.
$25,000 for 3rd in Chicago...

$25K for 3rd place in Chicago? Gang, that is not inspiring for young US runners. That is like a weekend consulting gig for junior associates these days at PWC. And, my PWC buds are rested and ready to do it again the following week in another city - unlike Jordan who can only be expected to perform at such a level maybe 2x or 3x a year. Direct race compensation for top tier runners is dirt - so I sure as hell hope they are getting massive compensation elsewhere.
its hard to understand why any athlete makes money. I know that sports generate a lot of money, especially football basketball baseball golf to name a few, but zero of these athletes have motivated me to buy anything or watch anything. and i do watch sports and i have bought sporting equipement. so my guess would be anywhere from zero to a zillion dollars.

From the previous website:
[quote]There’s a combined $200,000 on the line for runners who finish in the Top 5.
1st — $100,000
2nd — $50,000
3rd — $25,000
Wasn't her base salary reported when she signed at $220k/year? She is doing well and well earned.
The real question is, if she became Pornstar Jordan right now, would she be worth more or less than Runner Jordan?
Shoe sponsor base: 200k
Chicago 3rd place bonus: 25k
Chicago prize $: 25k
Sub 2:24 bonus: 25k
Appearance Fee Chicago: 40-60k (as long as athlete breaks 2:30, if not, reduced by 30%)
+ appearance fee increasing dramatically for any race for the next 1-2 years while athlete is "hot"
+ prize money from many track and road races
+ USATF stipend
+ side sponsorships
+ speaking fees at camps/seminars/motivational things
+ shoe sponsor contract bonuses (times, USA ranking, world ranking, race placings both track and road, magazine covers)
She is doing very well.
