I am 20 years old and I have been running for just under a year now. Before that, I had never ran, just casually on the treadmill. I now have a 5k PR of 18:37 (Amateur I Know) and I am continuing to work hard in training each and every week to try and bring that down even more, I cut it by 6 minutes already to get into the 18's, so I know I'm capable of cutting it even more. And id like to make it to representing my nation some day.
Anyways here is my question. My form feels shocking. I run with a forefoot strike, however my whole upper body is out of form. I seem to lean backwards from my chest if that makes sense? I feel some sessions I tire very quickly because of it. I tried upping my cadence, but it still stayed the same. IS it just that I'm trying to run too tall perhaps? or is it another issue? Its really bothering me, big time.
Note: A few weeks ago I ran in a pair of Innov8 Bares on a treadmill and took a video of my form, it looked great. Is this a route to go down, once or twice a week, to encourage good form? Some help Please! Its really getting me down!
