say you're non-elite, non sub-elite. non sub-sub-elite. Hypothetically you're on the wrong side of 20 minutes in a 5k [if only barely] and a bit over 40 as well.
Is there any point to training/suffering/pounding out the miles and trying to hit some arbitrary goal based on how we define units of speed/distance?
Or, if "winning" is the goal, at a certain age isn't that virtually impossible [unless some local 5k/10k or something] then what? Win your age group? After you do that a few times then what?
Does any of this matter? If not, what is the point? Finding the point on the performance vs. work required to get there chart where you want to end up?
I've been somewhat obsessed as a hobby jogger and the performance curve/improvement is addicting [adult onset hobby jogger] but times have started to plateau and I wouldnt say interest is waning but am curious what the point of all of this is.
Wouldnt it be simply easier to relax, but the training book/calendar down, and just get 20-30 mpw of easy yogging in and call it a day?
Alternatively I could use a good recommendation for a thai masseuse in the LA or Bay area
