First off its 4931' so at least get that right. No one wants the dam meet given it loses money no matter where its held, and working with USATF is a nightmare. Every other place its been held have told USATF to not come back. They burn out their welcome very quickly. I have been part of the meet management for this event, and you would not believe it if I told you how incompetent USATF people are. Its mind numbing that these individuals who are supposed to know track & field are so inept its not funny. They are hard to work with, screw everything up they are given, and generally get in the way of putting on an event. The city leaders want the meet so they can use it to publicize the city. Be serious, no one even knows where the hell Albuquerque is. So sorry you are upset but try to find anyone to take this meet.
Actually, it's 4,960'.
Boston people must not know how to check elevations.
The Google has ABQ at 5312.
"Why do they care what altitude it's at? It's an indoor meet!"
Awesome city!
Clean air!
Fantastic running trails!
Great Mexican food!
Beautiful women! ?
Blue meth!
Elevation adjustments. Make them look better than they are

Exactly how much time have you spent in the Duke City?
Sprinters are faster at higher altitudes.

Agree
US indoors would fill up in boston.
just saying. Reggie is prepared to host.
No one made a substantial bid other than Albuquerque.
They want to make sure their imported Africans have an edge.

I believe this. Nobody cares about indoor nationals. I love track, and I probably never watch more than 1 or 2 races from this meet.
Bid is the answer. USATF does not go out and pick cities. Someone locally must bid.
Personally love it in ABQ as I can drive down!
1 Indoor T&F is not a major medal opportunity
2 Southern California is close to Albuquerque so it's only a day's drive for hundreds of medalists
3 Albuquerque is a cool town with lots to do before and after the meet

That's one long-ass drive
Even if Albuquerque bids, I would think USATF could say, "no let's not have it at altitude where sprint/field marks don't count and distance times will be terrible and it will be all around worse than NYC/Boston/anywhere"
