I was gonna make some smart-ass post about how this never would have happened if the child had been properly trained in the handling of firearms, but that the parents were waiting until the kid was in pre-K.
...And then I read the article. This is a gunshot wound to the head and the child is listed as being in serious condition. It's not a joke. It's a shame. And it's possibly (I don't know the statutes in Kentucky) a crime, to have left a firearm where the child had access to it.
News reported that an adult, maybe the mother, was IN THE CAR with the toddler at the time of the shooting. I haven't heard any other details yet.
