ive been paying more attention to GA this year, and I understand why youre under the delusion of other people who don't pay attention since I didn't as well. the GA state meet course is long and very hilly, the course record set this year by Jacob McLeod is 15:51, the course runs a good minute slow especially the slower the runner gets
also Milton this year 4 runners under 16 three times, 5 runners under 16 two
they ran at a course where no runner had broke 17 before this year their top 2 ran under 16:20 and they had another 2-3 guys under 17 twice
According to the course comparison chart, you would need to add about 16 seconds to the VA state course times to compare to the GA state course. So, that would mean that the LV boys top 5 would have run between 15:36 and 16:21 on the GA course. The Milton top 5 ran 15:58 to 17:11. Not to mention that the VA course ran slow on Friday when LV raced, due to high winds. I have no idea what the conditions were at the GA state meet.
Regardless, it looks like GA is developing some distance talent in a state not much known for their distance running, and that is good to see!
