it's humbling and a bit depressing to see so many people with more money than you.
No it's not. Did you know that most of those people are as*holes and you wouldn't want to know them anyways?
I deal with a lot of executives at my job. Dudes that make $300K base salary, but pull millions more in stock options/bonuses. When the company performs well, the make big bank. The amount of pressure they are under to keep our company afloat, plus the time away from family, plus their terrible health and lack of fitness, plus the treatment they get from people ABOVE them makes them treat anyone under them like a piece of sh!t. Also, tons of people are always trying to take them down, or if the company desires a change of direction they are DONE.
No thanks to that lifestyle.
When I get a beer after work, it's always with people who are generally grounded, low-key guys I work with who won't bite your head off for suggesting a change to our BRD or product like some of those executives. F_ck that.
Who cares if they have that much. Most of them will be dead in 40 years anyways and last ten of those years will be an incoherent mess as they deal with health issues and generally being unpleasant and senile.
If you are referring to the people who live in Malibu...be aware that they are retired professional athletes or actors/producers who got really lucky. MOST people aren't talented enough to be a pro athlete and the odds of being a VERY successful actor are 1/900,000 and all who you know.
