She obviously is sexist against men and against liberal Hollywood.

I’m curious why she turned it down. I now have more respect for her all of a sudden.
Probably doesn't want to answer questions (that so-called "running media" won't ask) about whether the "race" was rigged.
OMG so dumb! WHAT ABOUT THE SPORT PEOPLE
Has there been a distance runner on a late night talk show since Alan Webb on Letterman??

Yep, her pre-race bluster made it clear the fix was in. Now she only has herself to blame when it boomerangs upon media scrutiny.

This is a stance to ponder... at a USATF clinic an instructor said "If we don't promote the sport, who will?" That stuck with me and may apply here.
But I respect her decision to be at home.
oh, and a related question
When BTC and NOP athletes travel to majors (track or road), do they fly a Nike plane or coach on a public carrier?
She is missing out on an opportunity to promote the heck out of her sponsor's brand, the New York City Marathon, and track & field/distance running in the United States. It's her choice to make but I don't have to like it.
She is just so sexy. ?
This is a good move by Ms. Flanagan.
I respect this decision.

Why, specifically, is it a good move?
It’s her decision, of course, but without knowing details of her personal life, there is no possible way for an outside observer to judge this to be a “good move”.
Awesome, respect Shalane even more than ever.
She wants no part of that bleeding heart you know what.

Wrong, it is a good move because in no possible way does one want to be associated with Stephen Colbert.
Wow, how short-sighted by Mrs. Flanagan.

Hey trolls, any reason that makes you believe the East African runners like Keitany are so easy manipulated and of such low character they’d accept a bribe and throw a race? Every single one would just take the money and “run,” huh? You have a really low opinion of those runners, don’t ya?
Hope Colbert is replacing her with Kamworor. And I'm not being sarcastic

Only right-wing American morons could be dumb enough to think that Shalane turned down Colbert for political reasons.
Specifically, the kind found on this awful board.
Hopefully you'll go on shooting each other in churches into there are none of you left.
You really wish shooting deaths on others? Seriously? And then you call this place an awful board? Dude, you need to take a good hard look at yourself if you really mean that.
