Sub 1:50 - definitely a hard challenge and one worthy of recognition
Not being a scrawny, introverted, weirdo who is too scared to play dodge ball in gym class. OR be a real athlete and become a sprinter.

Becoming famous in sprinting is super hard - there are so many people who have the same exact time as you. You really need to go to the olympics/world championships to be a famous sprinter. Or get a sub 10 100m as a high schooler
Is German Fernandez forever legit?
True, there are a couple guys rn running 10.30 or faster but I only know Tyrese Cooper. Yet, I can name almost every runner under 4:15 lmao.
Well, is he? wrote:

He should be remembered as one of the best HS runners of all time. Unfortunately, he was hurt all the time. I coach at a rival school and got to see him run all 4 years. Some of the stuff he did before he became well known was off the charts. The first time he ever broke 9:00 was as part of a quadruple where he also went (if I remember correctly) 4:23, 1:57, and split 53 on the relay (about 10 min after running 8:53. The meet was some rinky dink small school invitational and he was just supposed to be running those races as "workouts".
As to the original question.....It's a tough call. Times alone won't cut it, that much I know for sure.

I think Fernandez is obviously forever legit. Coach B, what school did you coach at? I am a fellow sac Joaquin man, and I'd like to know if I went up against any of your guys when I was in high school
He won't answer so he can't be called out for name-dropping.
I coach at Hughson High. Call me out, fine. I don't think it's name dropping to say I coached in the same small school league as the guy.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
