This Saturday is the MN State meet, which has risen to be one of the best prep XC states in the country (top 10, arguably top 5).
I have a few takes:
-Acer Iverson has flown well under the national radar, but a win here will lead him to NXN. He'll be a name to remember.
-Wayzata (ranked US4) should win both girls and boys, but Grant Price (boys #2 runner) is out with injury, so they might not show their full squad until NXR.
-Emily Covert will win her first State title, holding off Anna Fenske: both these girls could very well be top 10 at NXN
and lastly,
-Grace Ping will NOT win State...instead she'll be upset by Tierney Wolfgram, who very well might be the best runner in Minnesota. Wolfgram has largely flown under the radar, but she's legit, and has a 17:19 PR this season: fastest in MN.
Any other Minnesotans have predictions?
