I've heard more applause at the awards ceremony of my local Turkey Trot.
Is this part of the additional security?

Can we get Allie Kieffer a deal?

This marathon is a sham, all about money and payoffs.
Yeah I felt the same after Meb won Boston but if the best guys don't bring their A game then it's anyone's race.
Of course. But what gives us pause is: why did they not have the A game? Ped crackdown? Match fixing? Hard day?
It's just a bit too feel good...

I think Rupp's performance in Chicago is more impressive. He stringed together 4:30-4:40 miles for the last 10k under warm weather! And I am not even a Rupp's fan.
I would bet 90% would appreciate it more. No doping rumors. Near the end of a great career and an American woman hadn't won here in 40 years.
Hasay is still faster.

he’s on a ‘mission’ yuk yuk- funny there weren’t more people cheering him, aren’t they grateful for the chance to be ‘converted’ ?
Never heard of this girl but congrats to Allie kieffer for finishing 5th!!

I thought that was a mistakes. Has anyone - other than world indoor marathon fans - ever even heard of her?
From 2:44 to top 5 in NY? My god.

I wrote this somewhere else. Slow half around 1:06. Desisa falls off early and finishes but with a slow time. Break at 19 led by Kamworor, with Kipsang, Abraham, and Ghebreslassie following. Abraham and Ghebreslassie separate and battle it out, until Abraham pulls ahead close to the park.
1) Abraham (2:10 low)
2) Ghebreslassie
3) Meb picks through the carnage and snags a podium spot
Oh well, at least I was close on the half/finish time.

Well done.
Slow race on both sides.

It just seems like in "slower races" the Kenyans don't do well. The women's race was SO slow that I think it hurt Keitany. Weren't they on like 2:32 pace thru the first 13.1

Do you guys think Kamworor knew he had the win and backed off a bit or was Kipsang just closing that fast? Combination of things?
No, the opposite. I think he was holding on for dear life. Kamworor is a HM God and good marathoner. And Kip was closing.

Hell no.
1) 2:09 is always better than 2:26
2) It's Men's. It's always going to have more prestige no matter how much the feminists try to subvert that
3) Like Flanagan is 100% to be trusted to not be doping? C'mon
Clean or not we will see who has class, her or rupp ? Will run run to social media and trash her win?

Is her team under investigation for doping?

Agreed. It was like they were in the back room of a warehouse.

You’ll have to forgive Rojo. He really hates NOP. Too bad because he is normally so unbiased and level-headed...
LOL
Allie Kieffer? Who the heck is that?!?!
What a performance by the US women 4 in the top 10.
Congrats to Abdi for another great performance, and of course to Biwott. 3 Americans in top 11, including Meb.
