I'm pretty sure their projected finish time is closer than yours, hole
Men's paceis yo yoing. Ward now back in lead pack.

Mile 14: 5:40 (1:21:17) Keitany is stepped on from behind and decides to start pushing and string it out. It’s now four women at front -- Keitany, Daska, Flanagan, Saina. Kiplagat just a meter or two behind. Now Deba, Vrabcova, Dossena and Tuliamuk all closing gap to join them too.
Mile 15: 5:38 (1:26:55)
Men
Mile 1: 5:39
Mile 2: Ghebreslassie already pushing and stringing out the men’s field. Not for long though as then it slows back down. Abdi falls at first drinks station

Mile 4: 5:00
Mile 5: 5:00 (25:47) Ward and Abdi have now rejoined the lead pack. Abdi now leading in fact as he just ran a 4:51 mile to catch up.

Mile 7: 5:02 (35:55) Meb leads a large lead pack. Ghebreslassie and Kipsang now pushing it just after drinks station during mile 8 and it’s stringing out. It’s quickly down to seven.
Mile 8: 4:53 (40:48) Now eight men in lead pack -- Kamworor, Gheb, Kipsang, Fikadu Teferi (who?), Desisa, Abraham -- and Meb! 4:53 8th mile and lead pack is now 8. Meb is only American in lead pack. Koen Naert was 10 seconds back and then 8 more seconds to Biwott.

Mile 11: 5:19 (55:46). Now 13 men in lead group thanks to that slow mile.
As the guy above me already said, current pace vs projected finish.
This is pretty obvious?

When the guy presented it on the tube, I went "huh?", and then was subsequently taken in by the following factoid proffered:
Meb's heart is pumping 10 gallons of blood per minute. :-0
Hey, they say he spends 60% of the race airborne. No idea how factual that is, but it is the first thing they've said that got my attention.
Painful, painful coverage. Amazing that 25 years ago they could provide better live race coverage with a fraction of the technology - and better commentators.
Tony Reavis, where are you?
Men went from 4:47 on 10 to 5:19 on 11 and 2nd pack caught back up
Now 9 women in lead: Daska Keitany, Saina, Rossena, Flanagan, Kiplagat, Deba, Tuliamuk, Vrabcova
abc down...espn2 down...what's working??

That doesn't seem like Keitany is surging. That looks like everyone else is dropping.
And there's still 9-10 women in the lead pack right now.
Women: 25k: 1:30:07 (17:47) Nine women in lead group, including Americans Flanagan and Tuliamuk.
Men: Mile 12: 4:57 (1:00:43)

See, I was thinking 4:42 is his current mile pace and 2:12:00 is the projected finish time based on how slow they've been running so far.
Exactly. Context is important rojo.

Dossena gonna feel good off the bridge and make the rookie mistake thinking it's a 20 mile race.
5km 19:09
10km 36:52 (17:43)
15km 54:44 (17:52)
20km 1:12:20 (17:36)
25km 1:30:07 (17:47)
ABC seems to only have a finish cam right now.
Meb was doing the leading duties last time they showed the men.
Well, nice to know they have Larry Rawson commentating. Maybe they'll actually utilize him for 30 seconds before this shi-t show is done.
