Hammer about to fall on Al Sleazy
The funny thing is that the marathon is Sleazy's best coaching event.
They parted ways before Rio... **yawn**

I cannot even imagine being married to that woman. Seems like she's about to boil over at any minute. Not a lot of love in that relationship, it seems.
The sorry state of headlines. The last contract has simply run out. It's that time of the year when runners' contracts do that. UK athletics paid for Al to train Mo up to the London olympics in 2012. He was also contracted to switch shoes to Nike. Then do to the success all parties wanted the contract prolonged, not sure if for five years right away or bit by bit, but through the rest of his track carreer anyway.
Now he's negotiated something better for himself. Or rather his agent did. This is the time he's at max sign-on value to do that. If his next marathon is a flop his sign-on value dips. If by this time next year he has not yet podiumed at a big marathon it dips even further. Waiting would risk him losing a lot of potential money. Hence this switch happens now.
As for potential shenanigans I'm mostly interresting in seeing if the London Marathon organizers will water down the field next year to help Mo podium - does Nike shadow power extend all the way to that?
Now that would be something I too would be upset about!

This post makes a lot of sense. I wonder if there will be any 'tinkering' for Mo's home race.
Paula’s London marathons weren’t watered down, I think the organisers don’t want to compromise their status as one of the most competitive marathons. Mo will most likely compete against top marathon runners.
So he leaves Alberto and his new coach is Paula Radcliffe's old coach...nothing to see her, move along please.
Who really was Radcliffe's coach ? I thought it was Alex Stanton ? I did not realise it was her husband Gary Lough. Ex elite athlete I know but I thought he was more her agent/manager/spiritual adviser.... Her book, informative as it is, was rather opaque about who was her coach and what sessions she did... even now information on her methods are hard to come by.
Will they have a make-up massage one day?
I don’t think that will happen wrote:

The last time he ran London they didn't water down the field, so no reason at all to assume they'd do it this time round.

Because Paula's coach could not possibly be involved in doping.
That explains why Gary aka rekrunnr is so active again on letsrun.
Ditto. It has nothing to do with Alberto.
Wasn't the reason Mo came to Portland was to give Galen a training partner? With Galen moving up the marathon Mo's speed is no longer needed.
Mohammed Farah is switching from Salazar to the coach that coached Radcliffe to her super dope world record.... Geez
This guy can't enough of the sauce.
Look, it may be very simple.
Leaving aside any possible use of PEDs (until proven guilty he has to be assumed innocent) there is no doubt that Salazar was of enormous benefit to Farah in three ways.
1) Tactical nous. He won some of his gold simply because he put himself in the right place at the right time and beat rivals who, physically, were his equal.
2) Developing his kick.
3) Peaking for the precise 8-9 day period of the major championship in any given year.
Now that he has retired from the track he may feel that he doesn't need Salazar any more. none of the above are as relevant to his future career on the roads as they were on the track. So he moves back to the UK where he is widely recognised, known and loved by the general public. Earning potential might be higher over here?
Or it could be that he dedication/commitment is not what it was and he does want to spend more time in comfortable surroundings with this family?
