Way to be really ambiguous there. care to enlighten everyone else?
Unless the rule change abolishes field events, I doubt there's any reason to worry.

To my understanding, the rule change would limit each team to being able to enter a max total 36 athletes.
That is a garbage idea, and I say that as someone from one of the smaller teams. Make the best distance runners double/triple to accomplish slightly more even fields? Just reduce team members per event by one and it accomplishes the same effect.
And you are probably from one of the larger teams...
It makes it much more fair overall. The current system definitely favors the tommies because they enroll like twice the amount of the students that any other MIAC school does.
Plus I think the WIAC and other conferences do it this way

The current system favors St Thomas because they actually train for every event. I'm sure its a lot easier when you have more athletes to work with, but there is already a cap at 6 athletes per event, so every school has a chance. Why should they be punished for having more good athletes than the other teams? thats not fairness, thats just desperation from coaches who are disheartened after explaining to their runners and athletic directors that they are on a 33 year losing streak. All this rule change is going to do is screw the tommies out of letting athletes who trained hard and earned an opportunity to compete with the best of the MIAC.
Another benefit of this system is it deters things like the Oles stacking the 1500 (granted this is if the rule were to be applied to outdoor) to squeeze out any other potential scorers from other schools.
The system is fair, at least for individuals. Every athlete from every school has an equal shot at qualifying. Why penalize and athlete for the size of his or her team? And for the team that finally does beat UST, won’t it feel all that much better that they beat the juggernaut?
as the first meets of the year roll around, I will first say, all of your predictions are mostly wrong! Best of luck in the coming season to all.

Lol, you just wish you woulda bought in before it exploded to 15-20k. easy money ;)
Got something I think you all will like. Here's a hype video of sorts for all of the MIAC, in which the top three runners from each middle distance/distance event are showcased. The top returners come directly from last year's conference results, soooo know that the actual fastest returners are much more highly disputed. But still, enjoy watching. With a week left before the first real meets start, I thought it'd be fun for the MIAC to collectively get hyped about the coming season.
Didn't put as much time and effort into these as usual since we don't know which events everyone is going to specialize in, but I wanted to get something out there before the season started.

Dang.. what if Saint John's doesn't score any points in the distance events this year?
That would be a first in a while following the likes of Chris Erichsen, Tommy Feichtinger, and Ryan Bugler and others.
Could be their time for the bottom of the MIAC.
Burgstahler will score at least a few points. He was formidable in cross country and was a scoring athlete before he was abroad his junior year. I say he gets a few in the 3k.
Raasch split 1:53 in that 4x800m relay last spring, and made the fast heat of the 600m at indoor conference his freshman year before going down mid-race.
Those two will score points.
I'm also sure they will get some in the DMR. They historically stack their relays, unlike many other teams. This will assist them in not being swept in all distance events.
I expect Collins and Burgstahler to perform well outdoor, but the Johnnies usual don't peek for indoor so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't score.
They do that Europe thang...
