? hmmm
Same thing happened to Lukezic when he retired to start AirBNB, there should be some form of a contract you can sign confirming you'll be ineligible for competition that excludes you from drug tests and stops sullying peoples reps when a missed test is for entirely different reasons than someone in peak shape.

Exactly, he knew what he signed up for.

I think you mean OTC not NOP.

He ran for both...
If you've got nothing to hide.... Or just officially retire.
Does anyone see this quote by him on the front page?
“I proved I completed clean, but even if I didn’t, nothing about their behaviour suggested they would have been able to catch me if I was (doping). I still feel like you could micro-dose and get away with it, because people are.”
-former FSU and NOP athlete Ciarán Ó Lionáird of Ireland complaining about the drug testing system. Ó Lionáird says testers are “constantly harassing” him and wasting money as he says he’s retired.
It sounds like he's admitting that he knows dopers that are beating the system, or that he's one of those dopers beating the system. It doesn't help that he's been affiliated with a group that's been in the news a lot.
But let it be known that I'm hoping that NOP is a clean, even if borderline grey-area, training group, since they've accomplished quite a lot.

I believe that he was at NOP for less than a year. I remember reading that he left the NOP because he didn't like Magness.
This article from a year ago corroborates his story that he is essentially retired and working full time for Nike.
http://www.runnerstribe.com/features/behind-the-scenes-with-ciaran-olionaird/. . . plus.
When he is talking about microdosers/cheaters, he is most likely not taking a shot at NOP. He is one of the few elites that gave a shout out to Rupp and Hasay on twitter after Chicago.
Ciaran “knows” things just like many track and field people. Zero proof. Just like nobody knows how much runners make or what people do specifically for training. The whole sport is rumors.

Okay so he was with NOP for less then a year and OTC for like 3/4 year's it sounds like?
Why not put former OTC runner? Ohh because he said something about something about dopping... And was what looks like briefly part of NOP...
I get it about looking for anything related to NOP and dopping.
But when I read this I see a former OTC athlete talking about dopping within the entire sport (probably talking about east African's ease of drug access and lack of testing?)
Instead this is purposefully shaped (by the subject line and the quote of the day) into a conversation about a former NOP guy (like 5-6 year's ago) talking about dopping hence it must be about NOP dopping.
Poor journalism..
1- If he wants the testers to leave him alone fill out the paperwork you need to so you can officially retire and be taken out of the system
2- If you know something say it stop the hinting around.
There's formal procedures you go through with USATF to retire (or unretire). Is there not with Athletics Ireland?

I associate him as NOP as he was with the NOP in 2012 when he referred to us as the "gutter press"when we pointed out that a man with a 10 year doping ban (Mark Block) was being wined and dined in the Nike VIP tent at the US Olympic Trials.
I also find it fascinating that a former member of the NOP says it's easy to microdose.
"The gutter press at it again. Actually gutter press is too big to compliment those clowns."

If only there was a website, or some easy process by which to retire, thus excluding you from the elite testing pool. Oh, look, IT'S IN THEIR ADAMS PAGE.
Why am I not surprised another athlete in a dirty corrupt sport is blaming WADA?
http://adams-docs.wada-ama.org/display/EN/Appendix+A+-+Description+of+ADAMS+User+RightsCiaran got the product line manager job at Nike because Capriotti wanted to make sure he kept his mouth shut and stay loyal. O’lionaird was dirty and he is as shady as it gets. There is a reason the testers are still annoying him.

Yeah, but a formal "announcement" doesn't mean there's a formal procedure to be removed from their out-of-competition pool. Not sure who to blame here, but glad USATF/USADA has their s*** together (for once!) on retirement procedures.

Judging solely by his quote, he definitely knows something. Pity that omertà still stands. He's just another "look at me" far left liberal that lives in their own distorted sense of reality. They pretend to have all kinds of empathy and desire to do things to help out the world; yet at the end of the day, they're just another selfish @$$hole.
