My ex-GF was a cheated on her then-husband, but that doesn't make me a cheater.
Note on 3/22/2023. This thread is from October of 2017. It's relevant in light of Zane Robertson's EPO suspension.
My ex-GF was a cheated on her then-husband, but that doesn't make me a cheater.
She was at the hotel when Aden was raided under the name "Bethlem Desalegn"
I've also been told that Betlhem Desalegn was one of the athletes at the hotel in Spain when the Jama Aden raid took place - can anyone confirm that?
Here is press report indicating she had ties to Robertson:
"They haven't lived together for two years, since Zane moved to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to be closer to his girlfriend, Ethiopian distance runner Betty Desalegn, who represents the United Arab Emirates internationally. Jake has stayed in Iten."

Highlight of the sport these days to see cheaters get busted. But again it is a no-name athlete. Any of the big names (Dibaba etc..) at that hotel full of EPO are going to be protected for a good while and may even get away with it.
Zane was not at the hotel in Spain btw.
Thank you. If guilt by association were actual proof of guilt, I'd be spending the rest of my life in jail based on the friends I had growing up.
Okay, I agree that guilt by association is nonsense. At the same time, your comparison isn't accurate. Two people grow up in the same neighborhood, pursue different professions, and one is caught cheating at work--accepting bribes, falsifying the books, whatever. MAYBE you want to construct an argument that one's formative years also shape character, value, and morals and there's a chance that his childhood friends also are bent because they had similar upbringings, but that seems a stretch. Here we're talking about two people who formed a close relationship facilitated by their shared role as professional athletes. in the same sport. If one of them is accused of cheating and the two share more than just that profession--a coach, training facilities, and training group--it seems appropriate to raise the potential that the other, also, is cheating. Not guilty by association but suspicious certainly. Heck, the entire elite corps of track and field athletes is under suspicion. Someone's partner ends up a cheater aren't you going to wonder?

That sounds like classic racism.

Good post.
Of course, people are speculating. Who knows? For all we know, he could have left Ethiopia as he didn't like the cheating going on just like David Torrence left Aden's group. Or he could also be a doper. We just don't know but I've got no problem with the first person's post.
I'm sure Zane never was associated with Jama Aden. Instead, he trained for some time under Gemedu Degefu, the Ethiopian coach of the Demadonna Group, who is the coach of Guye Adola, Hayle Lemmi and Tsegay Mekonnen, among Others.

What was that quote that Shalane said the other week? hmmm...
well duh!!! anyone who can make world beaters that are faster than the hundreds who use EPO and get busted only proves this guy knows what he is doing!!!!!
the one thing i still cant figure out, if EPO doesnt work, why is it banned? guess it must be like marijuana...its not a PED but yet its a banned substance.
EPO must be like weed, only the mindweak athletes take it, and they take it cause its a psychoactive drug and causes them to have delusions of glory

Nope- doesn't matter what anyone thinks- until they're caught they're innocent.
Maybe it was from the injections Zane was giving her? If you know what I mean.

Posted the guy who claims EPO doesn't work on elite athletes.

Wasn't Zane training with Tola in Ethiopia as part of Yannis's Sub2 project?
I'm saying nothing

What was that quote that Shalane said the other week? hmmm...
Shalane's quote was " “And I think it’s really important to consider who you associate with. We don’t get to choose our parents, but we certainly get to choose our friends and our coaches and who we want to include in our circle and put our faith and our trust in. I think it’s really important to think about who you include in your professional circle in this sport, and I think that who you choose to allow in says a lot about you.”
And then it goes on about something sourpuss Meb said.
Where does this leave Farah in all of this association conjecture? One of his coaches is under investigation for drug abuse, and the other has all but disappeared with his athletes only a shade of their former selves- Dibaba and Souleiman. Wonder what has become of abdi bile's son that left Georgetown early to go train with uncle jama?
