Yesterday I ran the Toronto marathon and made it to 18 miles before some cramping forced me to stop. My hamstring has been an issue in the past, but has been solid threw training. I got a little aggressive yesterday and paid the price as I was supposed to run 6:17 pace (2:45) but instead averaged 6:10 through the half.
Anyways, I want to run Chicago next year with some friends but need a qualifying time. There is another marathon in 2 weeks in Hamilton Ont. that would allow me to get a time for guaranteed entry.
So , my question is, now that I tapered for yesterday after 4 months of training, what is the best way to approach the next 2 weeks of training before the race? Just repeat my last 2 weeks of tapering before yesterday? Or something different? Thanks!
