I have been in a 20 week program training for Indy Monumental full thon, loosely following Jay Johnson's Simple Marathon Training program... bumping up the easy day milage 25 to 50%. I average 70ish miles per week. I've had a very good build up, no injuries or anything like that. Hit all my workouts and long runs along the way. Maybe not with ease, but I finished every one.
Here's the rub.... I'm aiming for a sub 3 hour time. That's what my workouts have pointrd to. My Garmin has a race predictor in it. The race predictor is saying 2:43.12.
Indy is in 2 weeks. Should I be aiming to run faster, or stick with sub 3 hours?
Morty is going to be there trying for a 2:45.... do you think I should run with him?
