I'm looking at getting a fuel belt or water belt or whatever you want to call it because I run distance and I read you should hydrate while running if you're running for more than a half hour. Now in the past I ran a loop and could place a water bottle where I could grab it but I've moved since then and now and there is no easy way for me to get water on my run unless I carry it. I also live in Phoenix where hydration is even more important. Granted I run either in the morning or late evening but it's still 90 degrees in the evening. So what's wrong with getting a belt for water? I was looking at getting an armband for my phone because I actually had my phone fall out of my pocket and it got pretty scratched up. While looking at them I figured why not just get a belt and kill two birds with one stone.
So honestly would you recommend a belt or no? I'm currently getting back into running after stopping for about 6 months. Before I stopped I was at the point where I could run half-marathons without too much difficulty. I wanna get back to that point and eventually run marathons. So I will obviously be doing a lot of distance running while training.
Side note: I ran in the past but I never really took it seriously. What resources do you recommend for a new runner? I've already learned some valuable lessons like starting slow even when you don't want to.
