My high school is very small so not interested in a Big 10 school. What small schools have good distance programs?

Q: Are you talking about D-I small or D-III small?
Not sure if it counts as small, but Utah State is on the rise. Both men's and women's teams are nationally ranked top 20. Great school, beautiful location, altitude, lots of trails.
Queens University of Charlotte
What type of academic environment are you looking for in a college/university?
Augustana in South Dakota. Less than 2,000 students and usually top 10 in D2

Portland actually has 30,000 students.
Furman 3,000.
Iona has just under 4,000 but mostly foreigners on their roster.
Do a lot of research and look into the coaching staffs background.
Do the athletes generally improve?
Is the head coach likely to stay? or do they have a history of moving schools a lot
Look at training location and facilities, not just a track but are there good places to run and train near campus or will it be all pavement/concrete runs.
How many people are on the team? At small schools there might be less coaches so if u still want attention and ‘coaching’ make sure roster is not too large
Learn about their training programs too once u narrow it down; if your low mileage in high school might not be a good idea to go to a high mileage college program and same if you high mileage don’t go to low mileage school.
Davidson if you're grades are good.
mcneese up to 4th in the south central region behind a&m, ut and arkansas
seems to be good growing team if you're foreign lol

Evidently yours aren't too good.
Furman and Portland men both ranked top-10 in NCAA this week after big races in Nutty.
Furman women ranked top 10 as well. Portland women have been good but not great this year.
Both excellent options.
Portland State has around 30k, University of Portland is very small, though.

Adams State, CO seems to do a good job recruiting big talent and developing hard working kids.
