Short:
I recently ran 94% of my PR on 3 days a week of training. I'm wondering how far I could take this on 3 days a week and if anyone else has tried this.
Details:
My 5K PR from 4 years ago is 15:20. For the past 4 months I have been running 3 days a week and the 6 months prior to that I did not run at all. Injury. I recently ran 16:15. That is 94% of my PR. I was shocked. I'm certain that I can get under 16:00 in another month or so which would get me closer to 96%.
Right now I have one hard tempo run, one long run and the other day depends on how I feel, but is usually easy. I cross train bike/elliptical three days and take one day off completely.
