Hey everyone, I’m new to the forum here and am a junior in high school. But about a month ago I broke my fibula during a high school xc race. I didn’t feel anything pop or break but it just started hurting when I went to kick the finish (16:55). I thought it was just a torn muscle but long story short I went to a doctor a couple days later and they said I broke my fibula clean through but it was stable. I was put in an air boot and told 3 weeks and you can run again. I was shocked because I thought I was done for the season but took his word for it. 3 weeks later I came back and he said it looks good don’t were the boot this week and you can run next Monday (my total rest time was 4 weeks and 1 day) Run half your normal distance for the first couple days. Does this sound right to anyone? He said there is a very low chance of me re breaking it. I have ran the last two days and it has felt fine other than it is sore but he said that is expected. I mean I’m looking at other forums and they are saying months. I just don’t want to come back at regionals and have the bone stick out the side of my leg or something.
I have went to state every year in high school and would like to return this year. My PR Is a 16:27 so I’m not like slow. This just doesn’t sound right to me...
