BTW best pizza I ever had was at a pub near West Chester, PA, and I've been to plenty of supposedly top joints in NY , Chicago, and other big cities.
Do you remember where? I live in West Chester and am curious.
I’m 15-20 minutes from West Chester and curious, too.
Pizzeria Vetri definitely deserves to be on the list. Can’t wait to get back there. Most money my wife and I have ever spent on pizza but so, so good. Running content: I ran a half marathon the morning before that dinner, arrived very hungry, and ate about 1.5 pies.
We stopped at Frank Pepe’s on the way home from Cape Cod a few years ago. Well worth it. Unfortunately, even though we have eaten at (and documented the experience) every pizza joint within 5 miles of our home (~20 different places) there’s no way I could make a top 100 list for the country as I’ve likely only eaten at less than 0.1% of all pizza spots out there.
Carluccios in Northfield, NJ is pretty amazing. The Ortolana is my current fave (tomato pie with roasted veggies).
