Both teams are dominating every single race they have been in. At Dellinger, BYU scored 17. At Louisville, NAU comes back with an impressive score of 19.
This week it was NAU's turn to set the bar and they go 3-5, 18, 21 with a score of 50 to destroy at Wisco--the most dominate team performance in meet history. The next day, BYU is licking their chops as they run at Pre-Nats and go 1,6,7,12, 15 for a team score of 41 points. (Their #6-7 were 27th and 37th). This was also done in a very honest paced race that shows some serious strength!
In two weeks BYU takes on Portland who finished at impressive second place at Wisco and NAU takes on SUU who are currently ranked 6th in the country. (Choked at Wisco) and then they will go head to head at Mountain where they will most likely rest half of their guys.
Nationals will be the first and only time we will really see these teams go head to head. My pick: BYU.
Why?
Rory is top 5 in the country and BYUs 5-6-7 are much better than NAUs. All in all, it's going to be a close race and either team could win in any given year.
