It's a terrible deal for the Iranians, since they aren't and never were seeking to build nuclear weapons, just enrich uranium to energy-industry levels. It's just an excuse to hang sanctions over their heads. A provocation on behalf of the Saudi/Israeli axis. The "deal" is to extort something in exchange for removing the provocation.
What the news isn't telling people (besides that Congress started this a couple months ago by sanctioning Iran over Trump's would-be veto) is that the power in the region has radically shifted, with the Turks, Iranians and Iraqis all preparing to cooperate against the emerging Kurdish nationalism which the US is manically supporting in its last-ditch effort to annoy Russia by murdering Syrians.
