TrackTalk has been offline for a couple of days. Does anybody know what happened to it? Is it coming back?

Who cares?
The guy who ran the site made it so you can't view the forum unless you sign in. Stupid. Even worse, you're not even able to make a new account so that you can sign in.
That place has been dead for a long time now.
TrackTalk is alive and well! The fires in California are probably responsible for knocking out the server, which is based out there. TrackTalk isn't the only website that is down.
TrackTalk should be back online sometime soon, the next few days or so.
The site is great to reference everything running from high school to professional. Local areas are broken down first by region of the country then each individual state. I have enjoyed it to follow high school cross country and track results as well as college results.
In the Midwest region, there is a ton of activity, especially in Wisconsin. There are two top nationally ranked kids there: Drew Bosley and Matt Meinke. Look for those two to be at either Nike or FootLocker National Championships or both!

I used to frequent Tracktalk until the owner started going on monthly tirades a few years ago. He would get drunk and post a bunch of crap and then ban people/shut down the site for a brief period of time. I sent him some PMs about it and he said he was trying not to let it happen again. That didn't work out and the site just kept deteriorating so I left. A lot of other people were fed up at that point and left too.
A few years ago I tried to go on to track talk and was declined an account. Not really sure what their goal is, but if you can't even get into the site to use it, better off just using this forum. Nothing as far as high school will ever be as good as the old Dyestat forum for high school and I think track talk tried to be that, but instead must be run by a moron.
used to go on alot. Just tried to sign in; it didnt work. Wonder how theyre doing over there...
We know who you are, OP. You're not fooling anybody with your username.
Lol
Use the trackspikesusa forums. It is newer and much better than letsrun and tracktalk!
The site seems to be working fine. Why did you get banned? I didnt know people got banned there.
Went on a couple weeks ago to look for some streaks/possible trade some Jasari's/Kenns and I had to register. Weird. I was one of the first people to sign up when Stat went down. I was one of the bigger posters on the spike forum for a bit. Registered, was never approved... They let trolls in there but people that don't cause issues and posted frequently get the axe...
Tracktalk works just fine for me. Granted, I have had an account for a couple years so I am able to get on. I mostly just look at the spike forums, but people are frequently buying/selling gear on there.

I think I see your point. Who would ever want a track forum that 1) requires a valid registration to combat trolling and 2) isnt infused with sketchy low paying ads that forward you away from the site? Do the threads also stay in tune with running related topics? Blasphemy! What kind of "moron" wants that?
Never heard of the site before today. The software also looks from the 21st century. Thank you for the recommendation, I just registered.
Tracktalk used to be the place where they would leak all the newest Nike demo gear and future catalogs. I was on there the other day and saw that people weren't posting that type of stuff anymore.
There used to be this dude in Japan who would post all the Nike flats that were only available to people living in Asia, like strange versions of the Nike Katana Racer and LunarSpiders in rare colorways.
Japan got all the cool racing flats (the minimalist movement was bigger there) we were left with the boring mass-produced models. I wanted to get him to hook me up with a few good japan Nike flats but was always worried about the fit being completely off.
I don't get all the hate for tracktalk going on here. I registered over the weekend and was approved last night. Nice looking site with a lot of potential IMO. It's organized by region and state with other sections for things like gear and training videos. More people should sign up!

Same, I was approved last night as well. The site is very clean and new but scrolling through threads can be abit of a pain as they load as you scroll. I would rather have the old style where the entire thread is loaded. It's good to have another running website on the internet! Although they do not have the richness of education that letsrun(in the past) has had, the community seems to be primarily serious runners

Maybe that's why Zen made a huge fuss back in August about dividing up the long threads in the spikes forum. People jumped all over him because of the thread caps. Something to think about anyway.
Did TT not pay the light bill or what? Sure hasn't been accessible for almost 3 days. Wtf?!
I sent email to Zen earlier today. No answer yet.
