I run for an Adidas sponsored school. My last pair of the Nike Pegasus are toast. I'd prefer to get my shoes for free going forward. What's the Adidas equivalent of the Pegasus?

Energy Boost
Get a pair of the Bostons. They are the closest to the Pegasus. They are for actual runners while so many other models of the "Boost" series are just for shelves at Kohls and Dicks.
Adidas response cc aka Adidas Sonic boost Or little heavier Supernova Boost
Aren't the Bostons a prettt lightweight trainer compared to the Pegasus? All the specs I see are 8 ounces for the Bostons and 10 for he Pegasus. Not sure the data given was for the same size though. I love the Bostons but only wear them for tempo efforts or in a pinch (in part because I pronate heavily and need a more stable shoe for a daily trainer). I've always though of the Pegasus as a basic neutral everyday trainer.
I am a big fan of the Boost products. Race in the Adios and trained in the Sequence (again for stability). The Sequence has been replaced by the Supernova ST, which is a fine shoe for easy distance days, but has a weird heel counter with a gap in the middle. On harder track or tempo sessions (which I usually do in my trainers), I feel like I'm going to come out of the heel.
Answer: THERE ISNT ONE
Adidas keep dropping the ball on this - you can go lower some 40g and get the Boston (and a bit more the Adios), or heavier 30g and get the Energy Boost/ Supernova (pr a bit more the Ultra). Nothing in the middle. The Response doesnt really compare because even if it is lighter some 20g than the Pegasus is a stability shoe.
What's wrong with the ultra boost? It's flexible, fast and not heavy.
The correct answer is the Supernova. If you can find last years Supernova Glide it has slightly less boost in the heel than the current one. The Ultra Boost is trash.

Supernova doesn´t feel anything like Pegasus. It´s a lot softer and is more similar to Vomero.
switching between lines, i find they alternate: boston
The supernova...although I tried them and got tendonitis...switched back to nikes and it went away and never came back. Different strokes for different folks. I stlil wear them as my daily go to the store shoes as they looked great.
I always thought of the Peg as an unusual shoe in that it slots in just above what is typically called a lightweight trainer. It's more in the "standard neutral trainer" class of shoe, but right at the lightest and most responsive end. The Boston is definitely a step below, but it's worth a shot.

Talking of a good 30 grams difference.... If the OP is fine with pears & apples then the Ultra by all means....
I never seem to notice the weight of a shoe if it rides well. I love putting on race shoes and noticing the difference. Never ran a workout slower because of the weight of my trainers.

Enough of the pegging posts...
Just watched the Sub2 documentary. Those lean fast elite Kenyans train in Vomeros. Yet the general advice here to go with the lightest and lowest shoe possible won't ever get old around here.
Boston or sequence
where do you see the Vomeros in this? can you gives us a time?

The Supernova would be similar. It’s a neutral cushion shoe, that’s in the Pegasus weight range. It is a blend to boost and bounce, which has good cushion with energy return. I actually prefer the looks of the Supernova over the current Pegasus, but I like both models. Both perform well as a daily trainer, and are versatile.
Great, timely feedback!
