I don't understand the conservative media's take on this- if people were joking about him at the Oscars, then clearly they knew and weren't keeping it quiet, because there isn't much more 'public' than a host's joke at the Oscars. That being said, I understand the criticism about not reporting him to the police. However, I think that unfortunately falls on the victim for not reporting it. It's all well and good to say that Seth MacFarlane should have filed a police report, but I doubt he had any direct evidence of these assaults happening.
On what grounds could Seth file a police report?
If the victims were not ready to testify there was nothing the police could do based on Seth's report.
IF the victims were ready to testify, they would have called the police themselves.
