Do you think it's fair or foul? I say fair. You don't have a right to play pro sports. Prove you are clean.
But if Wejo demands I be micochipped to work for letsrun, I say foul.

If you're on a level that you need to report your whereabout every day of the year, it wouldn't seem like this 'extra' invasion of privacy would be too much of a reach.
And after watching Icarus, the doping doc on Netflix, I've reached a new level of skepticism and think that more aggressive steps need to be taken.
What is the likelihood that such microchips would be hacked and thus rendered ineffective?
Exactly, hack either the front end or the back end or make your own chip sending 'acceptable' data,or bribe someone to look the other way.
Foolproof. Nailed it
So first Nike just gets a few prototype copies of the chip and figures out a way to read the output themselves. Then they find a few guinea pig test subjects and see what the threshold limits of the chip are.
I guess it will help the wealthier countries and athletes that have the money to keep pulling this kind of BS...
Who are you to decide who has a right to certain professions or not? The whole thing is farce. How could you possibly not understand this yet?

When do they start using the chips @ age 15, 20 or when they crack the top 100?
That won't work unless they professionalize WADA/USADA.

^This. The same goes for the ABP. And it shows.

Yes. And nothing will ever change unless we rebuild the IAAF from scratch, and stop with the nonsense of self-policing.
Forcing people to get microchips to take part in certain activities seems like a slippery slope.

We're already at the bottom of the slippery slope, my friend. Athletes can be subjected to blood testing at any time, day or night. They have to report their whereabouts at all times. If you want to compete, the price is essentially living in a police state.
I think our main concern should be what I'll call collateral privacy invasions. We've accepted that you don't have any right to keep your tissue out of the hands of WADA or a national equivalent. What we should be concerned about then is (1) preventing leaks, particularly of personal medical information that is not directly related to doping (e.g., avoiding a Semenya situation--obviously that's somethign WADA needs to consider, but it shouldn't be leaking to the media first) and (2) avoiding burdensome collection procedures (having to let strangers into your house on short notice to watch you pee). This proposal would certainly reduce the intrusiveness of testing, so I actually think it's a great idea.
F£&k! I can not believe this sh%&t! isn't enough that athletes must have their blood withdrawn from them the before the racing?
who ever suggested this is not an athlete or runner for that matter! Mike Miller what you say is nonsense and sh%&t!
we are not dogs, and don't compare us to dogs! athletes are not robot to do your stupid researches. Runners are not the only dopers in sport! I can't believe you even think like this! get off your high horse.
This really shows that Athletics is ran by very, I very silly people.
Mike Miller you must resign
I think it's time for young runners to take a stand and refuse to play by these ridiculous BS rules. International competition with no federations and governing bodies.

If that's the case, then our friend Galen need not worry about a chip..[quote]

Rather, we should chip the senior members of the IAAF, WADA, the USOC, and each country's governing body. Track them 24 hours a day.

rojo is on the dark side now.
letsrun is working for big brother.
his idea of fair play and clean sport has gone out the window, let's take away everyone's freedom for the sake a little sport.
it is going to be - chip to get a gov job, military, police,
chip to play sport, chip your kids for safety
chip everyone is the agenda
everything on that chip can be turned off. like your financials, cash,
because the plan is cashless society, it's nearly here.
so if the irs or anybody with power can turn off your chip and you can't work, and you have no money.
in the case of sports, you propose putting total big brother chip[ control in the hands of who? ioc, iaaf, wada?
what a nightmare.
and letsrun is part of it now.
traitors.
