LetsRun has a Monday conference call?
I will bet that’s a regular Algonquin Roundtable
I bet you they do a lot of training about race and gender on these calls.

+1
The question is whether Al Sal has the guts to tell Rupp to go out in sub 1:02.
Once Ruppy gets into a race with Kipchoge he'll get put in his damned place as Kipchoge drops a WR on his goofy ass

Not sure why you think Galen is not a better marathoner than Mo. Could you elaborate?
I would guess that the odds are pretty good that, because Galen is slower than Mo from the Mile to the 10k, that he may very well have a higher upside than Mo in the marathon.
Another query; why would anyone at LRC question Galen's guts? The guy lives to race. He's the only runner we have who isn't afraid of the Africans. Why would anyone question his guts?
"Some people run a race to see who's fastest. I run to see who can crash into a big a$$ rock".

This...Rupp does what his Ruppeteer tells him to do. Rupp himself does not make any of the decisions in his racing strategy. The only credit Rupp deserves is for being able to pull of his assignments very well, which is no short order!

Why didn't Galen run Berlin this year then?

Running is still his job, Chicago was likely more financially lucrative.
Private Rupp is silly and he's ignorant, but he's got guts and guts is enough!

So here is my question-did he win against a world class field?
A lot of people seem to be judging his Chicago win post-hoc. If you looked at that field before the race, there is nobody who would say "this isn't a world class field." If I told you two narratives before the race, which would you all believe more:
1) field including WR holder for half and full marathon, guy who got Silver in 2016 Olympics, and myriad others hit hot pace, blow away from Rupp in final 10k.
2) tons of super accomplished runners fall to the wayside as Rupp runs away from small chase pack over final 5 miles to run a moderate time and win.
Would you really have said prior to the race that 2 is more likely than 1?
Loads of people said the field was weak beforehand. The WR holder hasn't actually performed recently.
All of you jealous guys who keep making allegations should be ashamed of yourselves.
We have an American winning a major, and all you can do is try to tear him down? Rupp has never failed a usada test, and he works hard. He also has a family to support.
You skeptical people suck.

Lives to race? He races like twice a year.

i believe rupps PR for 1500/mile was 4:01 for a long time
