Is he among the top 100 marathoners of all time yet?
Hats off 🎩
Can't find him on here:

Yep, he is showing consistency in his times and definitely a master at non rabbit races, won by 28 seconds, very convincing. Congratulations! And yes, the best US distance runner ever, not just marathoner.
So his 26:44 AR win at Pre in 2014 against Olympic silver medalist Paul Taniu (who's medaled in every major 10k championship since 2013) and Karoki wasn't a win? Arguably was a stronger field too.
NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY SO MUCH HATE TOWARDS GALEN, TRULY THE GREATEST AMERICAN DISTANCE RUNNER OF ALL TIME. NOW, ON THE OTHER HAND, THEY LOVE THE EPO KING AMERICAN KENYAN LAGAT. WTF?? I DONT UNDERSTAND
Seriously, what an awesome job by Galen! I'm so happy for him! It's like he's taking the Jared Ward approach to PR-ing (by taking off chunks of time little bit by bit), and it's working.

When is he racing New York?

Custom-made time trial for him.
Wasn’t even a Diamond League race.
But Jared Ward's marathon performance last year was a fluke. He was lucky to run 6th at the Olympic Games. Check out his performance at Boston this year and you'll see he's not at his best anymore.

You're right! Never mind that the 10,000m isn't a DL event. It was surely a conspiracy!!!
I agree that Rupp's 10,000 AR was a major internation win against Tanui.
Was Tanui one of the paid pacers in the race? I thought Sambu was the pacer, but Sambu also was well under 27:00 that day.
Since the 2013 World Champs, Tanui has beat Rupp at all championship 10Ks except for the 2014 Pre 26:44 AR.
Trivia stuff: Did Tanui run for Kenya in 2012 Olympics? I don't think he was on the squad yet.
Also, I note that the AR 10k was aired live. You can't find it anymore on you tube, at least not a crisp version of it. Too bad, it's a great race to watch.
Half a dozen more and he'll be approaching Rodgers, who some may remember, won New York, Fukuoka, and Boston consecutively in Fall, Winter, and Spring. These were by far the 3 most important marathons of the year with the now more obscure Fukuoka being a de facto world championship much like London more recently.
For those of you that feel long ago decades make for unrealistic comparisons due to today's deeper competition (i.e. MJ v LeBron), how many major events has Kipchogw won. How many consecutive?
With all due respect - Rupp was sitting behind until the 3 miles to go.
This strategy is for the track and it won't always work for him (and will make him lose respect). Even Bekele and Gebre who mastered it on the track, didn't use this much the marathon...
When Galen pushed to the pace and through out that sub
9:30 two mile you can see it in his eyes when he looked
down at the ground feeling the water. "So this is what
the world record pace feels like", he stuck with it.
I think he looked a lot more confortable than Salazar, a
good thing.

His performance barely cracks the top 2000. Good win but just another **win for running such a slow time. He's still over a mile behind the best and if you count the sub2 project he is 2 miles behind. We need someone like KK who's gonna truly challenge the big boys.
I really don't care about the front page of lestrun and the Kenyan journalist perspective. Rupp ran a great race....period.
