Hasay under 2:21!!!
There is one. Just hard to see given the angle of the camera and glare of the sun.

Great run but Hasay, but come on, what did Dibaba run?

I mean on the TV coverage...
because that is not what he said!
Hasay has more balls then him! She went with Dibaba and ran the race of her life!
Breaking......weight rooms deluged with runners doing heavies the week before their marathons.

This is why too heavy weights, and too close to the race, are a BAD idea.
Pretty amazing for Hasay to set an American record after dropping out with a hamstring injury.
Well done boys!
Awesome day for the American runners. Great races by both Rupp and Hasay. Congratulations!!

It is all of those heavy weights 2 weeks prior!
The clock over the finish showed 2:18 and change for Dibaba.

Hasay! Swoon!
Jordan Hasay is america's best distance runner right now, hands down!
Chick ran 2:20, and went out with dibaba. Much respect for running fast on a fast course!
that is how you run. Nothing was given to her, unlike on the men's side...terrible wack race on a fast course.
Hasay and Dibabba make a damn good looking medal podium!

I know a lot of people are knocking Hasay's strategy here, but this is a rare opportunity for her to push herself and run a really fast time, possibly American record. She's an elite runner, she likes to challenge herself. She has plenty of marathons in the future to run a more strategically, so why not go for it here and she what she can do?
It all came around properly. She *didn't* crater and came away with a real prize here: 3rd + PB. Amazing run by Hasay. She continues to prove herself as the cream of the USA women's crop. Impressed.
Lovely interview by Rupp. Happy for him.
