Interview with Rupp. We asked him about his vest and doping allegations.
"I"m really not one who likes to put limits." Talks about running 2:02-2:03 races. He's hoping this weekend is a 2:06-2:07 races.
He says he's never read the USADA report as he knows what he hasn't done. Not worried about it.
What picture, timestamp, and GPS tracking will Jonathan Gault use to prove that he is at the Chicago Marathon?
"I know what I've done" is such a copout by Rupp. If true, then he is purposefully keeping himself ignorant of what his coaches, doctors, and peers do or have done. It's very difficult to be a fan of any of these runners who choose to remain ignorant about the sport that is their livelihood. Those of us who love the sport live in the detail of it. It would have been hard for me in that situation after his answer to not quip something like, "So you don't care that Salazar and/or Brown gave Ritz illegal IVs and forged the medical records?" Maybe instead, "I guess it doesn't bother you that Salazar researched testosterone limits to trigger a positive, carries it around, and gives you massages."
But at least LRC is back on speaking terms with anyone in Oregon. So you've got that going for you.
Ok the 56 minute show is now in the books. Listen to it here:

For the first 20-21 minutes, we talked about Galen Rupp who said this is by far his best buildup.
Then for the next 16 minutes or so (21-37) we talked about the other leading men in the race. Dennis Kimetto talked big and said he wants to break his course record. Renato Canova told us Abel Kirui is only about 90% as fit as last year.
Starting at approximately the 37 minute mark, we talked about Jordan Hasay - who also said this has been a great buildup - and the leading women.
excellent.
It sounds as if Chicago is the place to be.

Interesting insights. The competition is going to be tough for Mr. Rupp.
If he doesn't set a PR it will be a shock.
He would resond: "No I dont care, because I didnt cheat."
Pretty simple answer to a pretty simple(ton) question.
Just because there are some of us who dont think Galen cheated doesnt mean we dont care about the sport.
