pretty much what KB kinda says about marathon training.
but i will say this...if you dont have a full time job or full time student, training doesnt take up that much time.
sh*t back in college doing 100 mile weeks was brutally tiring for sure, but you do the 3-4 mile run in the am, ~ 18-24 min or so, sometimes maybe 6:30 or 7 min pace, but usually i tried to hang with the big dogs and for them it was around 6 flat pace.
then 8-10 miles in the pm, which ranged from 55-70 min runs...your looking at around 1:40 min total of running time in a day for 100 mile weeks. there are still 22:20 hours left in the day. get 8hrs of sleep, now 14 hrs left in the day.
its only boring cause introvert no social skills people like rupp cant find anything else to do.
KB has his hotel and track business, kipchoge has a family and his crew of runners, and lots of other kenyans have farms and sh*t like that. what the f*ck does rupp do? he used to play vid games and touch tips with mo and centro, but now what? am run, sleep, pm run, sleep.....yeah that sounds really lame and boring.
he should be trying to make a signature shoe, going to run and train in different places, meeting up with other "pros" to do training runs together, test driving some super pricey sports car, hiking a 14er....something, anything...but no he is boring in life as he is in his races.
i predict his wife leaves him in the next 4 yrs
