I know it is known as a breakfast place but I have always found Waffle House to be extremely clean with very nice furnishings and decor. The staff also is expert on the food they prepare and seem very polished. The food is superior. I just always have such a great time whenever I am able to secure reservations at the place. My favorite!

Out of curiosity, how much do you weigh?
If you by fine dining you mean that you expect the waitress, or another patron, to say the word "Fine" at least once during your time there, then YES!
Examples of this include:
"Them pancakes be looking fine"
"You want ketchup? Fine!" (as she slams it on your table)
"That Colin Kaepernick fella should be fined for not standing" (patron to another)
"Oh, you're fine, hun (or sweetie or sugah)"

Most of the other patrons, unfortunately, are not there for these particular food choices, and as an aging hobby jogger I may be the thinnest customer in the place.

I love Waffle House. I am from the north east but went to college in the south. My (now) wife was from the mid west and was a sprinter on our track team.
After a party during my junior year I told people I was heading to Waffle House to get 3 am breakfast. She joined me. I guess that was technically our first date.
We got married 6 years later.

What a beautiful story. I think they should make a movie about you and your wife and your first date at Waffle House. But don't make it too syrupy.

Fine dining is an out of ordinary experience. For most people, this means a "fancy" restaurant, with a well tended atmosphere and a higher quality of ingredients and preparation.
It's a relative definition, though, as one who eats at "fine dining" restaurants all the time may have a higher level of expectations than others, and one who eats at "low brow" restaurants all the time may consider a garden variety chain restaurant the epitomy of "fine dining."
One's exposure to fine dining is also relative to their monetary means and willingness to spend money for a "fancy" dining experience.
I once took a dump in a Waffle House
For the record I'm not familiar with Waffle House specifically but I doubt it would fit my description of 'A Fine Dining Establishment'.
