Stoltzekleiven Opp is a really steep uphill race in Bergen Norway.
Jakob hit the wall and then some.

DQ
Those half-tights are amazing. You can't even tell that he shit his pants.
what on earth are they doing with this boy. he is racing very often, and doing this nonsense wall runs while clearly having being exhausted from all the competitions he took part this year.
don't they have a more distant vision of his development, without trowing him in all crap races because of his recent hype being a hot prodigy kid.
Kilian Jornet crushed him!!!!!!!!!!1

Whats this? Unbelievable! Why running things like this? Are the family prepared to ruin his health for a few bucks?
And this is why top track and road runners would never make it in mountain running. Theyre just not made for this. I can see Kipchoge carried out on a stretcher after trying Pikes Peak marathon or something like that
I ran up and down this when on vacation in Bergen last summer. The down part killed my legs for 3 days.
Not really running.... Fast hiking/scrambling
No they would just have to adapt their speed to the climbing. They take massive strides and can't do that up the side of a mountain have to chop that sucker down and slow down.
Rod Dixon would have laughed at that course.

It's all down hill from here, Ovett after 1984.

He's a kid, he probably thought it would be fun. He accomplished what he wanted to this season and next season is a while from now, it's the perfect time to do silly things like this. I'm not sure the off season should be about long term development plans, it should be about a mental break and I dont see a fun event as contrary to that.

Its not that simple. I had fast friends a few years back who wouldn't dare run tough trail races. One of them attempted the 7 Sisters race in Mass. with me a couple of times and would end up between 10-12 minutes behind me. This is while I was running 1:22 halfs and he was doing 1:16-1:17 halfs.

According to news outlets, his father wanted him to run, somewhat to the runner's chagrin. So, it was not youthful enthusiasm.
Someone needs to make it look like he stepped in a bear trap like OJ in The Naked Gun.
More drama than watching NCAA women at finish.
He's faking the exhaustion to finish a shit race and will be ready for a killer session monday
That's why they call it FELL running.

Idiots doing this s***.
Shouldn't he have been DQd? That looked like a lot of outside assistance.
Stoltzekleiven is a traditional race in Bergen, Norway. You can race from you are 10 years old.
Jakob is not the first runner hitting a wall up that hill/stairs.
He competed last year also.
I think it is cool that he is running events outside of what he is best at. He could go for easy wins, but he rather competes in races where he is not the favorite.
Hopefully, Nike will take him to Footlocker so he can get to race against the best Americans. After what I read here, they are really good.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
