I always looked forward to his columns. He's moving on to a new venture.
I get the impression RW won't be around much longer. Everyone is bailing.

The slow steady decline of RW. Now it'll be filled with millennials writing articles about themselves.

If it falls any further it will reach the level of LR.
Is he sgning for Nike?
It's sad, I remember looking forward to getting RW, RT, and T&F News in the mail.
Good for him. I always thought he was too good for Runner's World.

"Integrity. We've heard of it." -LRC
That's a shame. Hutchinson's stuff (and Amby Burfoot's occasional contributions) was one of the few things left in RW that was regularly worth reading.
Magazines and print in general is having a hard time adapting to the Internet so I understand the financial pressures on RW, but I hope they manage to keep some emphasis on serious training for competitive running and on competitive runners. I think a lot of their casual fitness/weightloss motivated readers would find it interesting and inspiring.

It used to be about Baby Boomers writing about themselves.
Runner's World hasn't provided any value in over a decade. If they're gone, than they can't scam hobby joggers anymore.
RW announced on the 25th that they are shutting down their forums this week. In it's place they will have Facebook groups.

I started subscribing to RW in the early 80s but stopped it and switched to The Runner, and one sad day RW absorbed The Runner. RW was at least decent then, but it has been pretty bad pretty long. By the Penguin days it was trash forever.
He's way too smart for that magazine- that's for sure
RW is good for beginning runners looking to break 5 hours for a marathon after only racing a few 5ks
For Everyone else it is pretty much complete trash

Exactly. It wasn't a good fit.

Not accurate. They wrote for a broad audience. Not every article will appeal to everyone. You have to be open-minded and intellectually curious to sift through the good and bad. One of their best below.

Forums closed today.
Hate to tell you, but we've been here for years. Many, maybe most, of the RW forumites also lurked and sometimes posted on letsrun.
