Is it just me, or does this seem like a hobby jogger move? Wearing headphones and holding your phone on a run when you race for UO? Pretty weak

On the bright side, he did throw up the peace sign when he passed me
made me deaf
I don't get the headphones hate. I run in groups pretty often but when I go out alone I like having a podcast on. Nothing wrong with that, I can relax and listen to something in the background without ruining focus on my run. I don't wear them during races or anything, so if it's just training who cares? Whatever works for people.

Exactly. I like to run. I like to listen to music. I love to do both at the same time. OP can stick to his arbitrary code of running etiquette if he wants, but rest assured i'll still beat him on race day while enjoying a little music with my training;)
Can't wear headphones in the hood. Some crank'll sneak up on you and stab you in your kidney.

How do you know he wasn't listening to a podcast? sometimes I listen to informative podcasts on easy runs alone, it's a great way to learn stuff and stay up to date with new technologies.

If you have to listen to a podcast to "stay up to day with new technologies" then you must be 75 years old.

Yeah you gotta chill
It may be surprising, but very few top collegiate and elite runners actually fit the mold or care about being a "real runner".
Running with headphones sounds awful - wouldnt the wires get tangled up from the movement? It would keep jumping/flinging around and could easily disconnect from your phone.I would just find that really annoying lol, but I guess if youre on a trail (roads with headphones - BAD IDEA) and have bluetooth headphones with your phone on an arm strap it would be pretty nice to have esp if youre into podcasts
Better than carrying a cassette tape player on runs like I did in the early 80s.
Really?..... REALLY??...... Just let the dude run, Jesus...
