Hey LRC. I'm a senior with prs of 10:10 (track) and 17(last XC season). For these prs I rarely ran over 30mpw and during track I couldn't break 11 until I took women's centrum tablets (with 18mg iron) and two weeks after starting those my times dropped and I actually felt good again.
Since then, I have been taking the tablet with 18mg of iron every morning, sometimes with milk, for about 160 days now. Is that too much? I've ran 50mpw and have had some great CV workouts and tempo runs in August but for my first few races I have struggled running sub 5:45 pace and generally feel weak during races.
Any ideas on my issues? My parents are dirt poor af and we have basically no health insurance so I was hoping you nice guys at LRC could give some advice.
Another issue that could be making running during races so slow (and September workouts) is I haven't ran sub 6 pace except for strides so far this season. My CV workouts are usually 4-6x mile at 6flat with short rest and I kill these. What are some workouts I need to transition to doing to get used to 5:15-5:30 pace? 5x1k with 60 sec rest at those paces? Thanks for the help.
