More people are hitting home runs because their value is recognized (batters are swinging UP at the ball). No one is hitting too many, though, as the MLB leader has 44 and no one else even has 40. Hardly the days of Bonds, Maguire, and Sosa.

It's amazing that in baseball's 200+ year history, they finally just recognized this.
No
Pitcher PED use is down
This is good news

Stanton has 54 doesn't he?
Does Major League Baseball even test for PEDS? Regardless, the players are hurting their bodies and will dies young.

Given your ignorance of baseball's testing program, why do you feel qualified to comment?
PED's are everywhere, literally. Go to your local gym, and virtually every abnormally 'buff' meathead is using some sort of anabolic agent or pro-hormone.
Crossfit is just being exposed...
NHL and UFC are the worst painkiller and opioid abusers. I dont see why ilegal opioid users arent sent to jail for 20 years minimum 1st offence.

Sorry, leader has 54 and no one else has 50.
What does a juiced ball have to do with health care?

Well baseball is not quite THAT old.
Chicks dig the long ball.
I think the strikeouts are up as well...

This, along with the fact that there are so many pitchers throwing faster, and batters not being afraid to strike out with the new metrics, are the reasons for so many homers.

MKB tests like the NFL. Star players are warned well in advance of when their "random" tests will take place. Unless a star happens to be a Moran (Ryan Braun twice!) only fringe major leaguers and journeymen middle relievers are allowed to fail tests.
MLB is doing some sort of testing because they've caught a lot of players. They seem more serious about it than the NFL. Baseball fans take it more seriously than football fans because no one wants to see any more records with asterisks because they were set by obvious dopers and MLB has picked up on that finally after years of looking the other way and players resisting serious testing.
The increase in home runs is at least partly philosophy, where players are allowed to swing away instead of playing small ball -- trying to get on base with singles and walks, and steal bases. They players are playing how managers tell them to play, whether they're doping or not.
MLB, NFL, NHL, UCI, drug testers, as well as WADA, USADA, etc are 'Fake' public affairs bureaus created to fool the public. They are not independently managed and are part of the system. I.E. they are told what to do by the leagues.
Baseball is visibly, extremely different from 10-15 years ago. Even if there are PEDs out there it is nothing like the early 2000s when guys were getting jammed on a pitch and still hitting it out of the park, or bulky 38 year olds were hitting career high HR totals
Another issue is the size of the players and how pervasive weight training is. You have more players like Aaron Judge (6'7"/280lbs) and fewer small speedy players. It's also now expected that players will hit the weights, where in earlier generations they worked out by lifting beers and hotdogs.
Undetected doping is probably a piece of the HR total but there are other confounding factors that make it hard to pick out what percentage might be caused by doping.
I still say NFL is the WORST when it comes to juiced players. It's arguably even worse when you consider that the penalty for a first time offense is 4 games and then the second offense is only 10 games. But they care about the safety of the players...riiiiiiiiiight.
Btw, Stanton JUST hit his 56th HR of the season.
