Hi,
This is my first post. I have been trying to rehabilitate myself as a result of fibromyalgia. One of the hallmarks of fibromyalgia is pain/muscular dysfunction reminiscent of an injury, where there is no actual injury.
On a good day, if I really push myself hard, I can walk about a half mile. The other day, I walked a half mile over hilly terrain. My legs were completely drained. I had to sit down after walking this. I was hardly strong enough to stand any longer. I was not injured, though. I then kept walking to a minimum for the rest of the day.
About seven hours later, I stood up, and felt a sharp pain in my calf. Now, five days later, there is a painful region small enough to cover with the tip of my finger. This feels like a mini tear, and if it is, would necessitate taking it easy for a while. However, this might not be a real injury at all; it might just be the fibromyalgia.
So, does this sound like a possible/probable mechanism for injury? That is, pushing really hard without problems, and then having some innocuous movement some time later cause an injury? If this sounds unusual, then I'll assume it's just the fibromyalgia, and power through it.
thanks.
