So who does this leave in NorCal DP? No Kate Grace. No Leah O. Lauren Wallace retired.
I think out of NorCal is good (which by the way, that groups is officially dead right?).
There aren't really other options due to her adidas sponsorship. MSU is where she was most successful, but hard to have a college coach to give the time and focus.
Other good female distance coaches with experience in steeplechase?
If she runs well enough, maybe Rowlands can coach Nike?
Could have called that one.
Schumacher - only coaches Olympians.
Wetmore - won't coach a non-buffalo, but Emma, Jenny, Shayla also all Olympians.
NOP - no interest.
OTC - Rowlands coached Franek 4 years ago, but they seem to have just 800m runners nowadays.
Gags - Have to be Hoka? Coached Ashley Higginson (9:27), but no steeplechasers currently.
Gary - Have to be Asics? Coaches Garcia 9:19, Bush 9:24, and Teschuk (9:40)/Johnson (9:42).
Coogan - Have to be NB? Nor really a full group, but Coogan dabbles in the steeplechase himself.
Bossard - could add another strong piece and fellow adidas Edwards just signed on there. Not sure Emma wants another top American steepler?
Where else could Leah go?
Did she retire?
Oiselle maybe ? They have a stable of young steeplers. She burned lots of bridges leaving last year , if I remember , she never told anyone . Just showed up in Cali ,

No, Nicole Bush doesn't run for Gary anymore. And she is just going back to what worked to make her run 9:18.
Someone should ask her

No, you think she retired? Definitely not.
I assume she patched things up with Drenth. Especially because the picture posted on the Instagram is from Drenths hometown of Charlevoix I believe. Sometimes time away gives everyone a little perspective. She had great success there and I imagine they still have a strong mutual respect for each other. But don't forget, Drenth isn't the only high level coach in Michigan. There are pretty good coaches down in aa if a return to Drenth wasn't possible. That seems unlikely but stranger things have happened.
Look at Drew's twitter. NorCal is no longer.

Bush did a good job with Gary and then retired. Doesn't always have to be a big dramataic breakup. I am sure things can get patched up between Leah and Walt. Would have the MSU team as training partners I guess? Maybe she just loves living in Michigan and has another coach or is being coached long-distance?
Bush was trained by Drenth for her last few years as a pro. Also I think people are exaggerating any hard feelings between Leah and him. She was at the MSU Invite yesterday.
I doubt there's any hard feelings between her and drenth lol don't try to make a story
Leah will have Katie L. (9:37) to train with and Rachel S is back training too (Hanson's). Sometimes just being comfortable is more important than world class training partners.
What happened for this exodus at NorCal? Did Drew disband the group and they were forced to find training elsewhere or vice versa? Where does this leave Connelly?

I gotta believe she's heading back to Drenth, but Lee LaBadie is fairly close to Michigan and coached two steeplechase olympians.
Lee has never coached a woman and Akron is awful. Not a single training partner.
Mostly why Clayton is gone.
Who is Lauren Wallace
