How do you explain Rod Dixon? Was the beer, perhaps?

so from 19-20 he was mid to low 28 guy, the makes a huge drop and maintains for 3 yrs, then another big drop, then a HUGE drop, then back to mid 27s, then a huge drop then to low 27s, then boom back to 28 lows
"So from 18-20 he was in college and a low 28 guy, then makes a huge drop post-college - when he begins to focus on running since it's his job. He continues this drop for 8 years, but doesn't run consistently fast in the 10k because, get this, there are only one or two races a year. In his 'worst' 10 k year (2012) since his first drop (2010), he managed to break the Olympic Trials 10k Meet Record and became the 5th American to break 13 in the 5k. Later on, he transitioned to the marathon and stopped racing track 10ks - his season best suffered due to this."
Eh?
I actually don't have a particular idiot I'm responding to.
You must be educated to make an assumption of what Rupp is capable of doing at the marathon. Some of your "facts" people are the furthest thing from true or 'accurate' in any way that I sit here cringing at your words. Rupp is far from being YEARSSSS beyond his best years on the track; for christs sake, the man ran a 27:08 in the Olympics just last year, a championship style race. The splits for that race were 13:55/13:13 (for Rupp), very impressive for someone who's been training like a marathoner all year and clearly could've run in the 26:50s that day. The next week, he returned to run right around 2:10 in another championship style race, which saw Rupp split 14:26 between 30k & 35k as well as 29:28 from the 25k to 35k. That Rio marathon was in horribly cruel conditions that had to at least add 3 minutes to the overall time of their race. This year, Rupp has not run any all out half marathon efforts due to various reasons so there is not times to base off of but neither can we base his marathon time projection from his lone 10k outting in Portland (28:18) before competing at the US Trials (championship style race) in Sacramento (both I was there to witness). The Portland outting was just an easy tempo effort (I heard from the man himself plus I have eyes, I know when a man is barely putting any effort into a 'race'). A 26:44 guy never goes from being able to do that time to now running 28+ just due to the change of event and training. Rupp will always be capable of sub-27:30 most days out of the year with good base...as could Kipchoge run 2:06 on any given day for the most part. I still say we see a sub 2:06 clocking from Rupp in a well paced Chicago event. If Rupp can close the last 10k of Boston in 29:54 over the newton hills and in hot sunny weather, he can keep that pace gping for 4.2 flat 10ks in cool weather.
ummm no you are wrong.
what is up with all this "it was a tempo run"
you tempo a 28, tempo a 62, but will finally race a sub 2:06 now!
he has done nothing RECENTLY that proves he will run faster than 2:07 high, sorry fan boys but rupp is off the sauce.

Nice, boots on the MF ground!
WHERE WAS THE LIVE UPDATES? I take ONE MF run off and don't put MF BOOTS ON THE GROUND and this site turns into garbage. If I were a rich man I'd be in Chicago so we could have some quality content.

You cut out 90% of my argument and left the bit I through in there just to close out what I was saying with "Come on .. this guy ain't no slouch in 2017. He blitzed the last 6.2 of Boston with mile splits in the 4:40s and that included Boston's hilly part of the course."
Don't try to make yourself look in the right by not giving the full argument I had posted above. You must look take note of all 100% of it.
"26:44...like come on, that is so blatant, rupp wasnt ever supposed to run that fast..."
Um, he DID run that fast. Are you implying that he cheated? If so, then where is your evidence? I mean, it's so "obvious," right? You mad bro?
Do you think Bekele could run 26:17 now? Do you think lagat could run 3:43 now? People age. Why should rupp be expected to run 26:44 now, when he is focusing on longer distances?
Rupp just CRUSHED a bunch of americans at the philly half. Aparently, winning the philly half, olympic bronze, olympic silver, and 26:44 arent good enough for you.
So much for showing the best ever American distance runner that we support him and are rooting for him.
Personally, I think Rupp will run 2:07. I am not a Rupp fan because of his association with Salazar, but I hope he runs 2:05 just to shut you up, mindweak. You sound like an arrogant twat. "Boots on the ground" only held the title of LRC Biggest Dickhead for 2 weeks. I thought he would be unchallenged for months. No doubt you will revel in your dickhead status.
Cheers.
