The tribe is ON PHUKKING FIRE!
Please, please, please let this be the year.
Oh, and to any of you taking shots at the fast-recovering gem of a city that is Cleveland, please insert your own fist in your anus immediately, kokksukkers.

Alex Gordon blew the streak-ender last night. Good luck to the tribe this postseason.
I consider myself about as loyal a Cleveland fan as there is. I grew up in a suburb south of Cleveland, I am a self proclaimed jock, and I have always supported my teams (Browns, Cavaliers, Indians, Barons/Crusaders). I was the kid who pulled the covers over his head and turned on the transistor radio late at night to listen to my beloved Indians when they were on their west coast swing...hoping that my parents would not discover what I was doing. I still dial up 1100 on the AM and listen to Tom Hamilton as he belts out, "Ballgame" after each Tribe win. I have made this statement more than once, "If the Cleveland Indians were a woman, I would not be married to my current wife."
So...I am obviously ecstatic with what is happening. I am bleary-eyed this morning because I refused to go to sleep after the Lindor double off the wall in the 9th that tied the score. I have already watched the replay of the Bruce walk-off hit down the right field line 6 times.
You are probably thinking that I need to "Get a Life". Well, with 9 kids and a darn good Cross Country team I probably should not care about the Tribe as much as I do...too late for that.
P.S. Colby wear the hat proudly...I am!

It's POSSIBLE that Cleveland will never lose again. POSSIBLE, also, that they'll have their own Dodgers-like swoon and lose momentum. POSSIBLE that they'll be like the Washington Nationals (so far) and not make it out of the first round of the playoffs. POSSIBLE, also, that they'll ultimately take a 3 games-to-1 lead in the World Series, and that Lindor will knock in the winning run to win the Series (and make Marc Hunter miss a couple of his Loudoun Valley High School XC Team practices because he has to be in Cleveland for the parade).
To EXPECT the streak to continue, even to 23 in a row, is foolhardy, though. To EXPECT the Indians to win the World Series is just asking for a letdown.
That's the difference between expectation and possibility.
This does tie into track & field/running. For example, expectation's painful imprint is seen in the outcome of the Dan O'Brien/Dave Johnson ad campaign for Reebok in 1992. Waaaay before the Barcelona Olympics Reebok was promoting these two bona fide decathlon stars as sure-fire medalists. And then Dan couldn't clear his opening height in the pole vault at the Olympic Trials. There goes the hyped ad campaign! (An injured Dave did go on to win a bronze in the decathlon.) The possibility existed that Dan would shine, all the way to winning a shiny Olympic medal, like Dave. The possibility of Dan's failure, or Dave's, due to injury or just having a bad day also ALWAYS existed.
Class dismissed. And go, Indians, go! There are wonderful possibilities ahead.
God Bless Mark Hunter and Colby Alexander!!!!
Sincerely,
Your friends, Chief Wahoo and Herb Score
Also God Bless Marc Hunter!
And for all you good LRC peeps who don't know, Marc Hunter is Drew Hunter's Dad and was a world class runner himself. The pride of Brunswick HS!
And Marc and Joan Hunter's "darn good Cross Country team" is currently ranked #1 in the country for the boys. Impressive!
Remember the 2015 Golden State Warriors?

Remember how hot the Dodgers were earlier this year? Now losing games left and right.
That's probably what gets me the most about this whole situation. The Indians already had a pretty good record when this thing started, and now they've gone on a 22-0 run and they still haven't quite caught the Dodgers for best record in the league. The Dodgers were up around .700 at one point, which is just as ridiculous as the Indians' streak.
Thanks Marc.
I share a lot of the same memories, especially of listening to the radio broadcasts with Herb Score in the 1960's and 1970's growing up in Akron. Suffered through decades of rooting for bad teams.
They were so close in 1997 and of course last year. This year's team is even better than last year and better than their 1995 and 1997 World Series teams.
Go Tribe!
PHHUK THE DOUCHEBAG DODGERS. PHUUK YOU ANGELENO KOKK SUKKERS.
GO TRIBE!
Yes,
I got hooked on the Indians in 1964/65 when I was 8/9. I believe I still know the starting lineup in the mid 60's:
1B - Fred Whitfield
2B Vern Fuller/Pedro Gonzales
SS Larry Brown/Jack Heideman
3B Max Alvis
C Joe Azcue
OF Colavito, Wagner, Hinton, Davalillo
and that dynamite pitching staff of Tiant, McDowell, Siebert and Hargan
I was at the June '66 game when Sonny Siebert pitched a no-hitter against the Washington Senators. As usual, I was running around the stadium with my younger brother when my cousin found me and made me come back to my seat. It was the 7th inning. He told me that this was something you may not get to see again...and he was right! I remember Siebert striking out Frank Howard and I breathed a sigh of relief. With every out the fans got louder...quite an experience for a young impressionable kid who was already hooked on baseball!
The tribe is clearly the class of baseball after the all star break. Within three games now of overall best record in baseball for the season. They have all of the elements. Baseball can be unpredictable, but it would be foolish to bet money against the tribe to win the WS this year.
Go Tribe! Go Cavs! Go Brownies!
