Hello all I am trying my best to do well in HS but I do not have the speed for anything below the 5k-8k. Coaches think that I don't work hard or I am slow and have a lot of potential which isn't the case.
Times:
400 - 66
800 - 2:20
1600 - 4:57
- As you can see, all of the above times are not competitive for a sophomore and the below times are considered "okay."
3200 - 10:31
5K - 17:02
10K - 35:06
Half marathon (only did once) - 1:17:x
I always get toasted in repeats and the coach says things like "you're not giving it your all!" and you are probably thinking that is what a coach is for- to motivate you, but that isn't happening to anyone besides me because I am #1 on varsity but I usually come in 5th and 6th during any speed workouts. I work my speed 2-3 times a week during practice and I also am doing about 60-65 mpw.
