she can leg press 700 lbs... pretty impressive
she could sit on you and crush you under all that fat, I wouldn't be talking bad about her.

Would definitely hit that
I do like to look at the pictures in Cosmo, but I don't believe I've ever read an article.

Sh-t. You're right. Mum's the word.
I want to back up half a step and make sure that I'm not misunderstood.
I am uninterested in fat-shaming. I've been a fan of women's athletics since my ex-girlfriend, who was built strong, was a member of the very first Princeton women's track team back in the spring of 1978. I wouldn't think to cast aspersions on a strong and powerful woman--like Raven Saunders, for example, who works on my campus:

There's absolutely nothing wrong, in my book, with big strong women--or big strong men, for that matter. God loves 'em all.
What I'm bothered by here is a newbie who makes her drama of personal discovery into something of epic proportions--which it is, of course, in her private world--and then not only decides to share her early victories with the world, in vivid technicolor, but seeks "likes" on Instagram and then, less than a year in, insists on capitalizing on her "personal journey" by heading off to teach her first workshop.
I'm old school. Raven Saunders put in some hard, hard time mastering her craft. Most of us who got any good at all put in a LOT of hard time. I think the personal journey is a great thing. I've had a few of my own. But I didn't make a point of posting vivid photos of every workout that I ran 49 years ago, in my first year as a serious runner. I kept that sh-t to myself. And of course I shared new of my discoveries, in person, with a few friends. I didn't lay it all out there. And that was a good thing. I didn't try to build a public on the back of my first big five-mile walk.
But I'm clearly an old-timer, at this point, aged 59. It's a new world out there.
I completely agree, and I'm in my late twenties.
" I'm mocking her for thinking that she needs to share quite so much of the early portion of her journey in quite so much living color. "
How did she end up "sharing" her story with you? Were you forced to read it? And then forced to post about it here?
What you have described is basically social media culture, which is bigger than any of us. Many of us have some personal grievances with such behavior, but the minority of us will have little effect on the vast majority that mindlessly consume such content and engage in the same behaviors.
It is a new world out there, and it doesn't have tolerance for nuance.

He is a F.B.I agent!
I'm still confused as to who is forcing anyone to follow social media.
KudzuRunner: So what you're saying is that you are a victim of oversharing. Is that it?
Let me share a strategy with you. Sometimes I feel like I've been on letsrun too much. Here's what I do: I close letsrun, and possibly even close/turn off my computer.
You can do the same, with other websites!!

And yet she cannot even do a simple body weight step-up without hanging on a rail... pretty pathetic.

Nobody, but it has a large influence on many of us in this day and age.
Agreed
Obese kids
Obese moms
Scared Doctors don't say "you are obese, lose 120 lbs."
PC culture is a lie.

It doesn't have any influence unless you follow it. And if you follow it, you get what you deserve. So what's with all the whining?
